Vintage mobile bar hire, has been a very long and beautiful journey, made of easy days, hard days, some beautiful and sunny, and some a bit less… With a drop of creativity and a pinch of passion, the result is a journey in bar form.The vintage twist mobile cocktail bar is made of pieces of our journey, used by people we never met, on their very own journeys, today and more than 100 years ago.

HOW IT ALL STARTED…

I was shopping with my wife Victoria, in a little and quirky second hand shop in Nottingham. I was in that kind of mood where you look at everything, you don’t know what you really want, looking here and there, not paying attention to details. Ready to leave the shop, Victoria calls me. Dress. Surely a new dress. Moving without much motivation, I realised this was much more than a dress. It was something I had dreamed about. Keep calm I said to myself. Tucked in the corner of forgotten things, a massive dark chocolate color steam trunk. Why was I excited about my wife’s new choice of hand luggage? Opened flat 180 degrees, at that point I know I have a vintage twist mobile cocktail bar, just need a plank on it! I pay and collect it few days after. I take it home and start to put shakers on it, cocktail glasses, books, cigars and everything I got in the house, take pictures and post them right away on social media, the response? Overwhelming, everybody loves it, they can feel and understand my vision, at this point I know I have something special, something that can’t just bought at the counter, you have to create it, build it, design it, to have something unique.

MAKING THE VINTAGE TWIST MOBILE COCKTAIL BAR, from 1.2 meters to 5 !!

Once I put a plank on the steam trunk I am quite happy but I know there is more that I can do with this, and exactly in the same days I have a wedding quote request from Helen and Tom from London, getting married in January 2015, they want something special, unique, not the usual plastic bar; so I tell them the story of the steam trunk and my vision to build this vintage twist mobile cocktail bar, I tell them about adding one more steam trunk at the other end and building in the middle a cocktail bar covered in leather with shelves covered in book pages, to give that feeling of journey, love and secret words. They love the idea and pay the deposit. now I have to build  it. Searching the internet I find a lighter wood steam trunk up in Chester, looks better kept then the dark chocolate one, but I love it in a different way, looks fresher, looks like is going to have some journeys with me more than the original owner…. Once the buying part is done I need to build, and I am no expert at this, but the fate wants that Ben which works in the bar with me, is very good at this, and so the vintage twist mobile cocktail bar has got a new passenger, and it will be good company till the end. The centre part of the bar is built around the American bar so we can do fast and high quality cocktails, simple wood covered in leather with a massive chunk of wood on top (can’ remember how many journeys we have done to find it), on its side between the steam trunks two simple wooden shelves covered in old books pages, love words, love drinks, love the vintage twist mobile cocktail bar. Once the bar is finish, there is obviously an endless list of props, vintage standing lamps, buckets, wine boxes, hessian cloth, and so on….
